Chief Information Officer (CIO)

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) of KIT is Prof. Dr. Kora Kristof, Vice President for Digitalization and Sustainability. She is responsible for the technical, organizational and legal integration and coordination of all activities in the fields of digital information and communication as well as for the use of information technologies at KIT.

Areas of responsibility

The CIO:

  • is responsible for KIT's digitalization strategy and for the central projects and plans that help to implement them.
  • accompanies major projects in the internal IT landscape.
  • represents KIT in IT matters at strategic-scientific/political meetings as well as in relevant networks, and participates in political opinion making within the science system.
  • chairs (within KIT's digitalization governance) the Digitalization Steering Committee (D-LK) and—in cooperation with the head of the Digital Office—the Digitalization Forum (D-FO).
